The successful candidate works directly with the Cancer Program Coordinator to maintain, manage, and control all functions of a hospital accredited cancer registry program.
The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.
The candidate will enter annual follow-up of patients using text documentation that is required in maintaining a cancer registry.
- The candidate will assist the Cancer Program Coordinator in the preparation of an electronic survey application to the accreditation organization every three years and updates the application annually in preparation for the upcoming survey.
- S/He will assist the Cancer Program Coordinator in updating/creating cancer registry policy and procedures according to the American College of Surgeons Standards of the Commission on Cancer .
- The candidate will develop quality management procedures/reports of the registry database to review completed abstracts for accuracy of coding and text documentation according to the guidelines of the Commission on Cancer, VA National Registry and the Georgia Comprehensive Cancer Registry.
